Being a Sober Mom…. What a loaded title.

I feel though that this is one of the bravest things we can do & be.

If you’re anything like me, when I was in my active using/drinking I would use any good, bad, trying, intense, awesome, beautiful, and/or victorious situation to use.  I have found that most, if not all, of those situations, will occur in one day with kids alone! Hahaha

Being a Sober Mom isn’t something our society acknowledges nor offers much support and/or recourses for (Which is WHY I opened Brave Sober Mom community and support group you need to check out HERE), so it seems easy to NOT celebrate this badassery.

Especially, when there are tons of movies, advertisements, possibly family and friends who seem to focus so much on drinking & partying being a cornerstone in life.

Sometimes I sit and realize though, that I am doing this.  And so are YOU momma.

I guess I wanted to write about being a Sober Mom to let other sober mommas know that they are not alone.

You are not alone.

You are doing something the world is set on assisting us to fail at.

You are being the one example to your kids that regardless of what the world feeds into us or deals us, we CAN & ARE taking a different, unique, and rebel stance towards this life.

Are we perfect?  Far from it.  I can’t tell you how often I have to apologize to my little gent, but I’m showing him what grace, imperfection, humility, doing what’s right, and healthier coping looks like.

And that, my beautiful sister in sobriety, is a larger gift we give ourselves credit for.

Cause if you’re anything like me, I tend to feel that I fail in multiple areas of my life; I sometimes have a hard time accepting that if I stayed sober today, then I did enough.  When I look at it from this perspective though, I’m encouraged that THIS IS ENOUGH.  As long as we keep putting my foot in front of the other with the next right thing, all the other things will fall into place.

Again, Join our FREE community of Brave Sober Moms HERE for some badass community and support because you do not need to do sober motherhood alone girl.
